I believe that effective therapy is the result of a supportive and authentic relationship with another human being. As a therapist, I strive to create a safe environment for personal exploration that can blossom into the pursuit of deeper meaning, increased self-awareness, and the unlocking of inner potential. It is a great honor to be a partner on the healing journey and I hold sacred the opportunity to collaborate with my clients, tailoring my approach to each person’s individual needs and treating all issues, from the pragmatic to the existential, with the utmost consideration and respect.

I received my undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of Texas of the Permian Basin and my master’s degree in Art Therapy and Counseling from Southwestern College in Santa Fe, New Mexico. I gained experience working with people from many walks of life during my time spent in counseling center, youth shelter, and psychiatric inpatient settings. I offer art therapy, traditional talk therapy, and often a combination of both to best suit the needs of my clients.

I believe in taking a client-centered approach to therapy. In this regard, I see my role as a therapist as an opportunity to guide and educate clients towards developing self-awareness, self-confidence, accountability, and adaptive problem-solving skills. I try to empower clients with the knowledge necessary to solve presenting issues and being able to apply skills for future issues. My professional experience includes providing therapy to clients dealing with various presenting concerns, including women who have experienced domestic violence, at-risk  youth (such as substance use, conduct disorders, legal involvement, ADD, and probation), teen pregnancy, and children and adults with developmental disabilities. I also has experience conducting various assessment procedures.

I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology in December 2006 from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. In 2008, I graduated from Sam Houston State University with my Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology. In 2009 I became a Licensed Psychological Associate. During that time, I worked with individuals with developmental disabilities. In 2010 I obtained my Licensed Professional Counselor Intern status. Today, I still work with the developmentally disabled doing behavioral treatment plans.
